12-20-10, 08:47 PM #251I have fun with the M2 and the howitzer installed, however, the M5 Stuart light tank is gonna be abitch, being the weakest of the tier 5 light tanks, but it's way better when you get to the M7 medium right after. Free experience is the key to that grind.

Re: World of Tanks
The A-20 is in a similar boat at tier 4. Basically what you end up doing is hanging back till the big guys start slugging it out then sneak around back to try and get arty and spot for your own arty. You end up getting good xp when doing the spotting and they hit but it still feels like you cant do much.

Re: World of Tanks
The trouble with most scout class tanks are the drivers. They all want to rush in kamikazee style, and get popped in the first few minutes of the round. And for what? The scout badge? I prefer to hang back for a long count of 30 seconds. Then make my way thru as stealthily as I can.
This accomplishes two things, 1) Gives arty a target spot (which I get points for), and 2) The chance to sneak up on their arty is greater when the zerg in not around to defend.
For all the benefits of the A20; and I used to have one; I've found the Leopard to be a more effective scout/arty killer, plus it can destroy A20's.

Re: World of Tanks
Serer split up happening soon (like in the next few days)
http://forum.worldoftanks.com/index....-up-procedure/
As you know from previous announcements the server split into separate USA and Europe servers was preliminary scheduled for 20-24 December. It's an important event and milestone for us and weee have been progressing towards this step well.
The following changes are coming:
1) 2 versions of the game client will be in operation (US and EU)
2) 2 versions of wot official websites and forums (US and EU)
3) 2 new game servers both upgraded to handle a 60,000 players online on each simultaneously (120,000 total).
We have put in place a sophisticated account transfer system, that allows you to check the pings to each server and select which server you wish to transfer to.
And we have recruited many new moderators from lots of different counties and languages to handle the workload for the separate Europe and NA game servers and forums.
However, some things have been out of our direct control, that are unfortunately going to cause us some delays in putting the new servers online.
The new servers simply have not arrived yet, as expected.
We of course are trying to rectify this problem, and get the new servers there and online as soon as possible.
We apologize for this delay, especially over the time of Xmas, because we know how much a lot of you were looking forward to the euro servers going back online for Xmas.
This topic will be updated you as soon as possible with any more information, and a new projected date.
Note: update schedule remains the same regardless of the above delay.Last edited by Arreo; 12-21-10 at 11:27 AM.

So, they're going the route of Eve in terms of servers. That could be very interesting. Although, I hope they stay away from 1000 man battles as that is a lag fest even on a super server.
enf-Jesus its been like 12 minutes and you're already worried about stats?! :-P
Bigdog-Sweet home Alabama you are an idiot.

Re: World of Tanks
WoT may not be for everybody, but those of us who play it, enjoy the warfare, teamwork, and strategy aspects of the game.
The game is free, no subscription, you will only pay for special upgrades when the game releases, and even then the cost will be very low... much lower than the $15/mo most people are paying for perpetual environments.
The devs are very strict about policing the idiots out of the game. Become a problem player and you get the boot... end of story, no refund. And because they actually play the game, they know about in game issues as they happen, and they fix them fast.
I think of it as a combination RTS, FPS, MMORPG.

Re: World of Tanks
You might want to 'follow the herd' the first couple of matches to see what they do and what types of tactics they do.
Be prepared to die, it happens to everyone and sometimes you get in a lot of good hits beforehand, sometimes a TD or arty will one shot you.
Try each type of tank, standard (light, med and heavy), tank destroyers and SPGs (artillery) because each has different tactics and knowing them can help you counter them with other types.
