It's going be about execution, but I know Warhammer obviously wasn't the success it was hoping to be. Now we will see how well Rift does at maintaining its population when these games come to market. I personally see it fading into oblivion like Aion, but not for same reasons Aion did.

Trion who is the company behind Rift is also making another game in collaboration with SyFy channel which was now revealed to be called Defiance.
SyFy-Trion project revealed as Defiance | Massively

Something to do with an upcoming TV series by SyFy having impact on the game and vice versa. Kinda neat concept and I am eager to find out how in depth the interaction goes.

Trion has done an excellent job since launch and I see it lasting much longer than aion or warhammer. The lack of am endgame is what killed those games and rift has a fairly solid endgame and is about to release a large patch for even more content.

Yeah I saw an update for Rift where they were adding a new 20 man raid.

Some WoW sites have banned all conversation of Rifts in an effort to stifle arguments on those sites/blogs.

One game I'm interested in is a game called Archeage which will have pretty strong player housing/towns and some different things not seen in MMOs like the ability to get sick and spread the infection. They also have player built sailing ships and combat including leviathan style sea creatures. It is Korean and might take a bit getting here though.

I hadn't heard about that. That does sound interesting though. Similar to what they did with Deadspace but having an actual show instead of just an animated movie to go with the game so it'd be more an extension of the game or the game an extension of the show.

Hmmm, that will be interesting to see how they play that.

I have seen terra online it looks awesome graphics look sharp to bad everything was in Korean when I played it and gw2 because the first one was amazing

Old Republic - Looks phenomenal. Too bad Lucas ruined all things Star Wars for me years ago.

Tera - Hello Kitty monsters and ewokian racoons with huge axes... That's all I need to see of THAT one to rule it out.

Firefall - Oh my... that looks great. Unfortunately nothing of gameplay in that trailer at all. So I'll withhold judgement.

Guild Wars 2 - Oh my again... this one I might look at.

C9 - Looks a bit... typical to me. I'll pass.

World of Tanks - eh... looks interesting. Maybe.

Forsaken World - looks pretty typical as well... Probably won't look at it too hard.

Black Prophecy - Got it... looking at it... Maybe...

Guild Wars 2 all the way. Once it comes out I don't see myself playing much of anything else (except maybe Skyrim depending on when GW2 gets released). The game looks amazing both visually and gameplay wise. I'm really liking all the cool PvE stuff they are showing, but I know my time is going to be heavily invested in PvP. The developers have said on multiple occasions that they want the combat to be more FPS-like (moving, dodging, positioning, aiming, etc.) than the boring stand still, spam auto tracking sword swings/spells, kill, repeat. I got a chance to play it at PAX East and I'm super hyped. The game is going to be awesome.
