did I say the car wreck had anything to do with it? She came here when she was 3, may not even have family in Brazil, so I see no reason why she should have to go back to Brazil period. Nor should many others in similar situations. Hell there is a bill that would fix that (as long as the person goes to college/serves in the military) but good luck ever getting it passed by the congress.

No what im saying is if you take the car wreck out of the picture they would deport her. Your right she may not have family in brazil but she also may have family there. That was not mentioned in the article. No the dream act wouldnt fix it for her. She is not in college nor is she in the military. Personally i only agree with the bill for the military. Going to college doesnt meet the same requirements in my book.

Also here is a question; If you could not afford to help your family, would you:
A) Apply for a (what would be to you) expensive visa that may take 5+ years to even be processed, and you still then might not get in
or
B) Take a great risk in trying to enter that country without a visa, deal with NUMEROUS issues, but at least know you can take care of your family?
To be honest, with how shitty some of the South American nations are (for some, not all) and how shitty Mexico has become, I can't blame anyone for wanting to get out of there now, instead of waiting half a decade, or a decade, or more because that countries immigration laws are all kinds of fucked up. (And no they aren't taking yours or mine jobs, shit ask Alabama about that, whose farmers were having issues finding people to pick their crops because, well, its a horribly shitty job).

Well if you cant afford to help your family then how were you able to make it from brazil to georgia USA with 2 small children? Did you know you can apply for your green card and get a temp visa while you go thru the process? Plenty of people use that option every year.
So why is it your so willing to look over a neglagable fee for coming to the country that you see as the savior for your family? Personally i would think its money well spent. After all it would be an investment on your childrens future.

They'd know who she is now, it wouldn't be that hard to kick her out if she didn't do either in 3 years. I disagree, it should include college, not only does it bring an incentive for someone to go to college (and do well enough to graduate), instead of dropping out, having kids, and working the same shitty jobs; but it also keeps educated minds in the United States and we need more educated people still (I contend the only way we'll get manufacturing back is to focus on something Povertystan can't, high-tech).
