I guess I'll respond inline in red to maintain context

I think they should have let her testify in the panel. But, I can also see the point to a degree. If someone is going to testify on an issue where an expert opinion is needed or desired, then non-experts need not apply. You don't see "Billy Bob" the gun range gopher testifying as a ballistics expert for a reason.
    2) Ok
    3) I guess we're stuck having to take her anecdote as fact (even though those are "insufficient currency" in all of our other discussions
Well. anecdotal evidence is used quite frequently by both parties on all levels of politics. The issue in this thread is the demonizing of Fluke by the right.
And this is different than the demonizing of "____" conservative by the left how? I hate the equivocation, but the point stands and the adage two wrongs don't make a right applies ad nauseum. To claim that one does bad, while the other is purer than the driven snow is fallacious and disingenuous. There are ample instances of the left demonizing "right-ies" with no media explosion, public outcry or presidential pat on the shoulder. It's a double standard through and through. Additionally, anecdotal accounts are largely verbal and unverifiable. Therefore worthless (or at least that's what a group here commonly claim when the anecdotes contradict their positions). Good for the goose and all that.
    4) Friend was employee? Or Student? You said "Yes" She was both? Neither? See above answer?
I think student. Not entirely sure. My reasoning is the language linked in Red's post (click to see the quotes from the transcript).

    5) Couldn't find a statement on-line from them. Can you link it? Would love to read it.
    Very well written.

    6) Gotta love the pandering.....Not as bad or as funny as Mitt changing his position on a topic within 3 hours to the complete opposite of his original position.
Almost as funny as Obama doing it in his latest press conference too huh....complaining that the people running against him have no idea what's going on and are therefore incapable of making informed judgements about his choices because he's the commander in chief at present. Nevermind that it's the exact thing he did when he was running for office. Or the time before that, or the time before that, or the time .....But who cares right? .
This issue, from the start, has been blown out of proportion. From Rush's ill advised comments on the matter to the media frenzy surrounding those remarks, to the president calling the "poor offended" advocate, to the simple fact that an ounce or prevention should also include some personal responsibility and forethought or at the very least critical thinking and problem solving when it's crunch time. For someone training to be an attorney, her failure to think of all the angles and options available to her does not bode well for her legal career.

Sure. Birth control is like many other items. Its used by millions of people in this country just like a number of other medications. Of which some meds become cheaper and some do not. So we cant act like covering it by healthcare would automatically lower the price. Of which by the way i am not against these items being covered. Im just against the thought process of more people equals lower price.

Al, when people act like he did, they should be demonized. Hell, I've posted up other things about the left doing this to someone on the right. This is more aggravating to me because...well...as someone who has largely voted Republican (voted dem in the Texas Governor election since a) Kay Bailey didn't win the nomination and b)fuck Rick Perry) it is enraging to see people republicans torpedoing their own party by saying some pretty outrageous things based upon lies.

Oh, and please post up that Obama clip...I missed it. I think there was a Double Take cartoon posted by NPR about it, but I can't find that right now. What did he say this time?

    Up to 46 advertisers now.

And, on a much sadder note...Rush ended his show with over a minute of dead air. Why is this sad you say? Well, it is a well known fact in the radio business that dead air kills kittens. That's right, forget Kony, Rush is a blatant and willing kitten killer.

Ahh okay, thanks. I agree that it won't make them cheaper (and wasn't my point) it was more to combat the idea that covering birth control is/would be "raising premiums." I wouldn't argue more people=lower price unless we are talking about the makers of the pills (in that case it could be true, but like fuck they'd pass those savings on to the consumers and customers), if they are already doing fine selling them at 3,000 dollars, it'd be pretty incompetent for management to decide "well now 2000 people want them instead of 1000, so we'll drop the price a couple hundred bucks).

Re: Rush has done the impossible

    BTW, I was wrong.

Birth Control Pills: The “pill,” introduced in the early 1960s, uses hormones (estrogen and progestin) to prevent pregnancy. Users have to take one pill a day and need a prescription from their doctor. On average, 5 out of every 100 women who rely on birth control pills get pregnant each year. The Cost: According to Planned Parenthood, birth control pills cost between $15 to $50 a month, depending on health-insurance coverage and type of pill. On an annual basis, that means the Pill costs between $160 to $600.

And that's just one of many reasons why Rush Limbaugh is an idiot. He spreads hate and fear like they're STDs he can give away with his voice. The fact that people listen to him and take him seriously is a sign of just how unwilling to be reasonable or think that people are these days.

... which is why he should be required to wear a condom over his head whenever he speaks. It'd prevent more than 98% of infections.
