“A friend of mine, for example, has polycystic ovarian syndrome, and she has to take prescription birth control to stop cysts from growing on her ovaries. Her prescription is technically covered by Georgetown’s insurance because it’s not intended to prevent pregnancy.
“Unfortunately, under many religious institutions and insurance plans, it wouldn’t be. There would be no exception for other medical needs. And under Sen. Blunt’s amendment, Sen. Rubio’s bill or Rep. Fortenberry’s bill there’s no requirement that such an exception be made for these medical needs.
“When this exception does exist, these exceptions don’t accomplish their well-intended goals because when you let university administrators or other employers rather than women and their doctors dictate whose medical needs are legitimate and whose are not, women’s health takes a back seat to a bureaucracy focused on policing her body.“Because this is the message that not requiring coverage of contraception sends: A woman’s reproductive health care isn’t a necessity, isn’t a priority.

Re: Rush has done the impossible
One more thing why can't this needy bitch run down the street to planned parenthood and get birth control? shit is free! If she doesn't like her insurance then fire them and get another that does cover. I bet 80% of insurance companys already cover this. My many of ex-g/f's and my wifes insurance covers it.

Re: Rush has done the impossible
Aaaand welcome to today's installment of Asshole Theater.
As stated previously in this thread, by both the lady's testimony and TPG members....she's not seeking the birth control for herself. She also stated that many insurers cover it for medical purposes, but are very strict in the approval process.
And there are plenty of people that can't just "fire" their insurance company BT. There's a rather large portion of the country where the only affordable insurance they can get is through their place of employment.

Re: Rush has done the impossible
Their is other meds for those problems but when does it become your responsibility to pay for her meds or her friends meds? Why isn't the government giving you free condoms? You know what will happen. Government makes insurance companys pay for BC, so they pass the cost to customers. This all goes back to government telling you what and what not.

I think everyone has known for a while I'm an ass hole. Maybe you should run to the doc and get some Birth Control because it obvious you have a pre-exsisting condition, do you have a vagina or is it something else that didn't let you see that ass hole in me? I just want government to stfu and get out of the way. They fuck everything up.

Ah, that logic. It's flawless, I dare say. Yes, let's make insurance companies pay for several meds that will cost more than paying for 1 med. That will surely lower costs. Yep Ye...oh wait. You might just be wrong.
Furthermore, Mr. Doctor, what are these other meds? If they exist, what are the side effects of all of those medicines individually and when combined together? How is that better than prescribing one medicine?enf-Jesus its been like 12 minutes and you're already worried about stats?! :-P

OK, but you can't drive on any roads funded by the government, use public land, use a library, use public hospitals, drive a car as that would require government license, have your house protected by the police and the fire department, use public schools, go to state fairs, hunt (you need a government license for that as well), etc.

So, why didn't all of those liberal Democratic Presidents and Democratic controlled congresses stop it? Why did they let it continue to this millenium?
And, as far as the contraceptive issue is concerned, it isn't a left v right issue. It's an issue of men v women.enf-Jesus its been like 12 minutes and you're already worried about stats?! :-P

Re: Rush has done the impossible
It's an issue with lazy people want more & more entitlements for nothing. The Gov. looby's this shit. If you vote for me I will get you more intitlements... They did stop it. Keystone Pipe Line was stopped. So instead of that being here making a bunch of jobs, now Canada is working a deal with China. It's not about women vs men not to me anyway. I'm the man and can wear a hat. You can get one in the bathroom of a club for a dollar
