03-04-12, 11:20 AM #1I am worried
One of my first friends at college, and my trainer at the station, she's in Nigeria right now. She isn't Christian, but her family is, which means she'll be targeted. I just can't seem to find a happy story these last few days. Fuck religious violence.
Nigeria’s Boko Haram calls for “war” on Christians - Bikya Masrenf-Jesus its been like 12 minutes and you're already worried about stats?! :-P
Bigdog-Sweet home Alabama you are an idiot.

No offense, but I just don't understand why Americans insist on traveling overseas to places where there are religious wars/hatred towards the west/etc.. going on at the time. It just doesn't make sense to me.
The way I look at it... If there is some shit going down at the time, I'm changing my vacation destination where shit isn't hitting the fan.
Mexico - crossing off the list
Middle East - crossing off the list
Nigeria - crossing off the list
Yemen - crossing off the list
You get my point.
I do hope your friend is safe though, I'd be worried too
Just doesn't seem too smart to me.

Re: I am worried
I get your point too. It's not for everyone.
I don't even know if White's friend is a US citizen. (edit: turns out not)
But I gotta say; Bravery, Charity, and Unselfishness are qualities I like to see in Americans.
Specifically knowing someone who is in a dangerous place is worrying. But knowing that this isn't unusual behaviour among my fellow Americans makes me less worried about us as a whole.
Cheers,
