US soldier kills 16 Afghan civilians
U.S. soldier accused of Afghan killing spree - CNN.com
Should he be tried by the Afghan authorities? Imo, yes. If this had occurred in the US, we'd insist that the person be tried by us. Plus, can you imagine the blowback this is going to create?

Yeah, I saw this. I'm thinking he snapped, which is sad. Always bad to see someone snap like that whether in war or peace.

Re: US soldier kills 16 Afghan civilians
Nine of them were just children, too. Good thing we had this soldier over there "defending our freedoms." There is no point for us to stay in Afghanistan, and their hasn't been for years now. All we are doing is propping up a puppet government and now it is starting to turn on us. This is beyond stupid.

Re: US soldier kills 16 Afghan civilians
Actually, that's not how I feel at all. I actually do support some military action, but I do not like it being portrayed as if they are fighting for our "freedoms" or stupid shit like that. They aren't, and haven't since WW2, and it's jingoistic to say they are. I actually supported the initial actions in Afghanistan, the intervention in Libya, etc., not because I thought they benefited us in any substantial way, but because I felt it was the right thing to do. Wars like Vietnam and Iraq 2 were completely pointless and only resulted in senseless death.
