The initiative is one of many for a local beer organization, Raise Your Pints. With this win, they can focus their efforts in future legislative sessions on other pressing initiatives— like a bill to legalize homebrewing (or raise the ABW cap even more). Mississippi and Alabama are the only two states in the Union that outlaw homebrewing.

It's fun to do yourself, but gets annoying when friends start making their own shitty beer, and thrust it upon you. Sometimes it's tough to put a polite smile on your face while downing your bud's latest batch of cat urine.

It is, however nice to see places with dumber alcohol laws than Minnesota.

It's the craft beer laws that you guys really want. Really good beers made by people who make really good beer for a living. They are exploding here. It's nice to be able to go out for a burger, and have a fresh, locally brewed beer that will knock your socks off. Local liquor stores around here are starting to support them as well, so if you like what you are drinking, you can usually find it close.

Growlers were just legalized here a couple months ago. Not too many places have them yet, but with as many small breweries popping up around here, it won't be long before every liquor store has them.
