How exactly is she supporting her older brother who is in college, and a sister who doesn't live with her? Just sounds weird.

Although not as weird as a jail sentence for skipping school. What kind of fucked-up law do they have in Texas that sends a 17yo to the graybar, when she is of legal age to just say fuck it, and never go back?

And how is she not emancipated? If her parents aren't around, she should be her own legal guardian, and be able to excuse herself from school whenever she needs to.

I don't think we are getting the whole story here.

This is a tough call really. Here at 17 your required to make it to school and work is second at best. As dex said i dont get how she is financing her siblings when they dont live with her. Im also betting this article left out she was sent to JDC for the night not jail.

On one hand i agree with the judge in that she was warned before punished but on the other hand life isnt always that simple. If i knew the entire story it would be easier to make a call but as it stands i have to agree with the judge. At 17 you dont get to skip school and a good nights rest might help her clear her head. However after leaving she should be met by a social worker to see what can be done to help.

Hmm. As far as I can tell there's no specific TPG rule against posting links to outrage-fodder from the Daily Mail.

So I guess it comes down to a personal responsibility thing - kinda the same way there's no specific law against you sitting in a Parisian cafe, wearing a monocle, holding a white Persian cat, smoking a Player's in a nickel-plated holder, and saying "Eef you do not have zee sex vith me, I vill destroy zee verld!" every time a woman walks by.

... mostly we just hope you'll be able to restrain yourself, and are a little embarrassed when you can't.

Willis it's a pos town about 40 mi from me, it was a nice place 30 yrs ago before all the douchbags from Houston discovered it and the Judge is a retard she is emancipated at 17 in Texas. I'll also bet there's a tinge racism in the dumbfucks tiny peanut head
