Tea Party Zealot calls for overthrow of the government.
“When a gang of criminals subvert legitimate government offices and seize all power to themselves without the real consent of the governed their every act and edict is of itself illegal and is outside the bounds of the Rule of Law. In such cases submission is treason. Treason against the Constitution and the valid legitimate government of the nation to which we have pledged our allegiance for years. To resist by all means that are right in the eyes of God is not rebellion or insurrection, it is patriotic resistance to invasion. …May all of us fall on our faces before the Heavenly Judge, repent of our sins, and humbly cry out to Him for mercy on our country. And, may godly courageous leaders rise up in His wisdom and power to lead us in displacing the criminal invaders from their seats and restore our constitutional republic.”
""We are on the precipice of destruction ... they have misjudged God and his willingess to intervene ... "

Soy, I often admire your intellect, but this first part is complete BS, and you know it. To truly make a difference as a politician you have to have money to get elected, and lots of it. There are 3 ways to get said money, be rich and use your own, take
bribescampaign contributions, or a combination of 1 and 2. Once you are on the payroll of the lobbyists that supported your campaign how do you then say, "Just kidding."?

Civil just hit on the aspect of American politics that is the most destructive. The problem with democracy is that at some point along the way, special interests will be able to buy the government by buying votes or buying enough propaganda to effectively buy the votes. Then they will use this influence to create an environment that is most beneficial to themselves while damning the rest of the population. Some solutions to our problem would be capping both total campaign donations and spending as well as term limits in the house and senate. Good luck getting those through though since the people who can make that happen are the same ones that it will negatively affect.

My favorite thing about the tea baggers is that they keep screeching about too much government involvement, yet they are the first ones to demand that the government tell people who they are allowed to love and marry. Bunch of worthless hypocrites.

I semi-agree: Money and corruption is a huge problem. We need to regulate the process; take the power away from the corporations to donate. Make it so anything campaign related is fixed, and all candidates have equal time and resources. And punish the fuck out of those who fail. Problem is, people keep crying about regulating these giant money-machines... They need to be regulated because they are regulating us; as you pointed out.
My Senator, Earl Blumenauer is a noble man, he rides his bike to work, he volunteersfor so many things, in and out of the political arena, he keeps a bike in DC to ride to meetings. I have met him. Not all politicians are driven by money; we need to expand that. I still say be active and get involved; write letters, join or start an honest PAC.
Vote to regulate the people that are trying to regulate us. Frankly, the conservative parties are not doing that, they repeatedly vote and propose legislation that further deregulates these entities that influence the system.
Many of you have voted for that deregulation by electing these officials who are driven by money (they say capitalism, but they are not driven by honest rewards from hard work, that much is obvious, they are driven to exploit every loophole they can find at a high cost to us), and now corporations can donate even more.
We need regulation, and many of you cry against that. How do you like the deregulation of last decade? Did us a lot of good, eh?
Thankfully we are starting to create regulations for these out of control greed-machines. I hope we can regulate the election process and start having fair and honest debates.
