Re: cyber technology hate crime
Yep...as I said, he just wants to make a spectacle of himself.
I can't find it right now...but, does anyone remember that clip on TechTv with Leo Laporte, where they were talking about this guy who basically had all of these transistors and microchips implanted into his head to make him think faster? Even Laporte (a guy who loves technology) thought it was disgusting.
That should tell you something.

Sorry to reply so late but I would like to answer that.. Yes Mcdonald's gets alot of rude and weird customers... sometimes I hear employees have big mouths and yell or swear at the customer.. sometimes they don't get written up or fired because of it but laying hands on a customer is definitely a no no.. even escorting a customer out of the building for a device leaves a black eye to the corporation.. My managers preach to me telling me Customers are always first.. No matter how stupid he looked or what he had.. he was a customer and he should be treated as such
So this being on public news definitely will leave a few people out of a job..

Fair enough. I still don't understand the visceral hatred reaction so many seem to have against him. I thought we'd moved beyond hating people for being different or acting oddly. Being put off, or annoyed, or speaking your mind to someone is totally different in my book from outright physical anger and violence, which many have espoused in this thread.
Actually I wanna go a little further. Because this is almost intriguing to me. I DON'T follow the line of reasoning that's making everyone so mad at this guy. He's a weird guy who likes to tinker with technology. If it ends up helping someone eventually, great, if it doesn't who gives a fuck? Who is he hurting aside from himself? It's akin to being mad at someone for dressing poorly. What do you care? Why does it bother you so much? Let the guy do his thing. If it's a lifelong hobby of his doesn't he have the right to practice it?
Do you really want to live in a society where you get beat up by people who don't find you normal enough?Last edited by Thorsen; 07-20-12 at 10:58 AM.
