Dishonorable discharge
Is what these assholes should have gotten in hindsight. Bunch of dipshilt fuckstix trying to lie about an event for political gain and pass themselves off as nothing more than patriots. Disingenuous assholes all of them.
Former special forces officers slam Obama over leaks on bin Laden killing - CNN.com
What the President said after the operation:
"Tonight, we give thanks to the countless intelligence and counter terrorism professionals who've worked tirelessly to achieve this outcome. The American people do not see their work, nor know their names. But tonight, they feel the satisfaction of their work and the result of their pursuit of justice."
"We give thanks for the men who carried out this operation, for they exemplify the professionalism, patriotism, and unparalleled courage of those who serve our country. And they are part of a generation that has borne the heaviest share of the burden since that September day."
For anyone who forgot how the news was broken to the American people. Does this sound like he's bragging to you?
What Admiral Bill McRaven, head of special operations said:
"At the end of the day," he said, "make no mistake about it: it was the president of the United
States that shouldered the burden for this operation, that made the hard
decisions."
Yeah, he's taking all the credit. Fuck them!
Reminds me of this wonderful example of integrity. No problem hitting Ventura and he probably deserved it, but when the cops showed up he runs away like a true American hero. Psssh.

Re: Dishonorable discharge
From the article:
Another former Navy SEAL in the video, Scott Taylor, says of the bin Laden raid: "If you disclose how we got there, how we took down the building, what we did, how many people were there, that it's going to hinder future operations, and certainly hurt the success of those future operations."

A. Obviously it's not valuable Intel. Of course we'll have "experts" like DG come in here and insist that it could be, which leads to...
B. They know it's not valuable intel and this is just a political maneuver. If they had any integrity they would just come out and say that and not lie about Obama taking credit and lie about him leaking intel.
C. Just goes to show that just because someone has a nifty title, it don't make it so.

Re: Dishonorable discharge
I do understand what you are trying to say Trigger. Unfortunately, you have no idea what the fuck you are talking about. The fact is any specific information on how our special ops forces do anything they do currently is classified. Discussing personnel numbers, entry points, supporting operations, and all the rest, shit even little details like callsigns will help our enemy kill us the next time.
20 years from now, when they do a documentary on it, well, that's different.
The attempt at political gain is coming from the White House on this one.
I won't get into how I know, and I won't claim to be an expert because that is not important - but I know that of which I speak.
The bottom line is that you, a civilian not in public office in Washington, don't get to decide what intel is "important". There are rules for all of this that have to be followed and for good reason - Obama's people essentially ignored that to brag.

Re: Dishonorable discharge
As for the Ventura video you posted, the majority of the SEAL community including people that were there knows Chris Kyle was lying. Jesse Ventura wasn't even where Kyle says he was that night. He also is suing Kyle for defamation of character. This is a guy trying to sell a book. He has lost a lot of his cred within the SEAL community for his comments.
