You can't say my statement is true, and then say the opposite of my statement. But you'll deny that too, and then agree with it.

The thing is it doesn't matter what the issue is you find a way to blame the Reps. GLB passes by 2/3 majority, yet it is the fault of the Reps, even though Clinton was in office. Vote on Iraq war passes by almost 100%, but it is the fault of the Reps because they somehow tricked all the Dems into voting for it. Bailouts, when they give fat bonuses to corp execs that got companies, must be the reps, but once GM and others show some signs of stability, thank the Dems.

Basically, in almost every post I have seen from those on the left, if something bad happens it was the Reps fault no matter who was in charge, and if something good happens then it must be because of the Dems.

At this point it has actually become comical. Some in this group remind me of a caricature. lol

Actually, it was brought up by you guys first, as a failure of Clinton, even though, as you say, it was passed by a Republican majority congress and sponsored by Republicans.

I've blamed them for going along with it at least twice in this thread and in others, too.

Here it's mostly about the lies that war was based on. It's irrefutable that the Bush administration lied in the push to war, and that definitely influenced a lot of votes along with playing the 9/11 and patriotism cards. But, again, I have no problem blaming the Democrats for going along.

To be fair to both sides on this issue, they had no control over how the companies spent the money once they gave it to them because the bailouts were more "OMG, throw money at them to save them!!" than "ok, then go through this methodically."

Most of the time it is the Republicans fault. That doesn't mean the Democrats weren't complacent or an accessory in some way. Look at the past few issues brought up here. Deregulation of the financial industry? Gramm, Leach, and Bliley were all Republicans. The debt? Bush and the Republicans. The war in Iraq? Pushed by the Bush administration. Voter ID suppression laws? All Republicans (although, I'll give props to our Republican governor for vetoing the same type of laws here).

Let's flip the script now. Why don't those on the right give Obama or the Democrats ANY credit for anything? Hell, a recent poll of Ohio showed 15% of Republicans giving more credit to Romney than Obama. They could've picked "don't know," but they had to stick it to Obama. Why doesn't anyone give Obama credit for a successful stimulus? For the auto bailout? For getting bin Laden?

Trust me, it's the same from the right, and I'd argue far worse, because at least you'll see me and others on the left here support our arguments with a multitude of sources while when these arguments come from the right, they are often lacking and real sources.
