All that plus the events that transpired that morning, September 11th, 2001 just do not make any sense to me. The most protected airspace in the world yet there was no protection to be seen that day. I don´t get it.

From what Ive heard/read on this matter is that they knew something may happen in the fall of 2001. No exact days were ever given, no specific times, etc. They had a broad gap of about 12 weeks in which an attack could happen. And even if we did manage to stop/prevent 9/11 from happening whos to say that 9/12, 10/11, 11/2 or any other random date would happen too.

Point is once someone, or an organization in this case, gets it into their head(s) that they want to attack people and cause harm to others there isnt a god damn thing we or anyone else can do to stop them. And if you dont believe me look for interviews from former secret service members assigned to the president. Every single one of them will tell you the exact same thing when it comes to someone trying to assassinate the president. If someone is devoted enough, has the time, the desire to do so, and is willing to give up their life there isnt a damn thing they can do to stop that person from killing the president.

The new information suggests that the CIA had very good information, had high confidence in it, and pushed Bush on it, he was just too focused on Iraq to care.

I´m just appalled and amazed and dumbfounded and whatever else you can think of with people´s disregard or disdain or neglect of the whole situation. How can everyone be OK with sweeping this under the carpet. Just simply disregarding this as "hmm, oh well, they just didn´t pay attention and look what happened, aww". WTF. Wake the fuck up. Why is this not outrageous? Why hasn´t anyone been held accountable for this era-defining crime?

Same thing with Pearl Harbor, right?

What's the point in spending all this money on an intelligence agency if you're just gonna ignore them? But being President has got to be tough. Think of all the impossible choices they are faced with every day. Not one answer is ever "right", its usually just the best of the worst choices. No wonder they all get gray hair by the end if their first year in office.
