But a sizable portion of people are against both birth control, abortion, and condoms. I guess they expect everyone to abstain unless you are actually planning on making babies. Rubbers and pills are far cheaper than diapers and bottles.

I don't have a problem with either the pill or condoms. I do think one should use the condom regardless of the pill though, when sleeping with partners you're not 100% sure of, because of the reason you mentioned. Condoms can help prevent many diseases from spreading, so if you're not sure of the person you're with, bag it.
As for them slowing happy endings....I bet you most women are very much in favor of that side effect of condoms lol.

Condoms... fine.
Fewer abortions... sure.
Free contraceptives... great.
Now, on to the thread derailing question:
Should people who knowingly have unprotected sex with many partners while stricken with HIV be considered criminal? Does lethality matter? Would it be just as egregious if it were something that wouldn't kill you, yet can't be cured, like Herpes? Is there a precedent out there already?
Annnnnd go.

Criminal transmission of HIV - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
It's a crime in many countries if you infect someone.

Yes, Yes, No, Yes.
A significant portion of places has laws against knowingly having sex while HIV positive without informing the other partner. The reason for this is that for the most part, HIV is a death sentence, so in effect you ARE killing that person if you give them the virus.
I do believe there are precedents already, people who've been tried and convicted.
