Tax increase on the middle class?
Have you figured out how much less you will be bringing home this year vs. what you earn?

Yup gotta read the fine print on those "tax holidays" bc they end eventually.
Nobody really talked about the payroll tax holiday during the elections either because both sides knew it had to end and didn't want to piss off their voters.

Re: Tax increase on the middle class?
Well somebody has to pay for this..... Really, it's difficult to believe how easy it was for the last two presidents to run up those deficits. It's even more difficult to believe that despite this people still go to the polling stations and vote these assholes in. Assholes because they think it's okay to put an enormous financial burden on us, our children and our grandchildren for the financial gain of a few.
What happened to the days when people actually had to make and earn money legitimately, not lobby congress to give them trillions of dollars of tax payer money, when it doesn't benefit the taxpayers. What these politicians have done is down right criminal......now you, I and future generations will have to pay for it.Last edited by MaFioSo; 01-07-13 at 02:17 PM.

Re: Tax increase on the middle class?
(Read the article)
A few from what I can see but not many from either side. I do not understand why you are asking the question though. I was not trying to make the expiration of the tax holiday anyone's fault. Hell as coors already said, neither candidate talked about it and everyone knew it was coming.
I just think it is funny the big dose of WTF people are going to get when they open their next check. Most certainly when they probably thought they were protected because Barry won the election. Because we all know he has us covered.
It is all a fucking scam any way. I could give a shit about having to pay an extra $4,000ish into the system this year if the budget was anything that resembled heading towards balancing or if I thought for a second I would ever see a penny of the hundreds of thousands of dollars I have invested and will have invested into SSI by the time I retire.

Re: Tax increase on the middle class?
And isn't that the PERFECT example of our govt's bullshit at work.
They take money from us every pay period....week in, week out....for decades. Supposedly, it's so that we don't foolishly spend it and have nothing to live on when we retire. Their first order of business is then to foolishly spend it, so that we get shit back when we retire. Thanks FDR.
I am willing to bet that a blind severly retarded beagle pup could produce a better return on investment than our gov't does.

Re: Tax increase on the middle class?
I think it's sorta that way, yeah. But more that many people have allowed The Media (who/whatever that is) to become their vote proxy. In effect, many people want to be told who to vote for and have decided to let Media X (or Y, or Z) tell them.
Making a decision is hard. Economics, law-making, social policy, and foreign policy are hard. I think that part of what people want is someone (or some thing) they can trust. Those media outlets that I personally think are the worst are also the ones that run a continuous hard-sell on "trust".
I don't think the problem is new, and I don't know how to solve it. I also don't have anything upbeat to say on the matter.
Damnit.

Re: Tax increase on the middle class?
Some way that the funding for campaigns is equal or closer to equal.
Best example that I know. Two companies create a product. Company A's product is better but they only have $10,000 to spend on marketing. Company B rushed their product out but has $1,000,000 to spend on marketing. Who will sell more?
Brought to you by EA Games. LOL.
The Presidency should not be based on who is more popular. We need a leader, more now than ever.
