As for face to face it serves no purpose at this point in time because everyone knows it doesn't matter. Besides we dont need to jet anyone over there when we have embassies that could get the job done. That is one of the reasons they're there to begin with.

Ok. The technology has nothing to do with personal interaction, and especially in tense situations is probably not going to help. But ok. I'm not going to argue about it.

I don't know. Can't remember if it was Babylon 5 or Deep Space 9, but that episode with suits that make holograms feel real totally proves you wrong.
