There also needs to be a distinction between pre-trial detainees and convicted criminals. I think giving minimal amenities to pre-trial detainees just plain isn't right. They haven't been convicted of anything yet, haven't faced a jury of their peers, and they're still presumed innocent. So hitting them with the chain gang and bologna sandwich treatment is definitely stepping over the line there.

I have 3 pistols.
1. is a 30+ year old 32 revolver.
2. is a Bersa 380 I bought last October.
3. is a XDm 40 I just bought in December.

I owned a Ruger 9mm but it was stolen out of my Truck Nov. 2011 so I was in the market for a XDm but didn't like any of the prices so I decided to buy the 380 as a conceal carry gun. I was then contacted by my Gun dealer and told about a good price for the XDm 40, so I bought it.

I do want to get another 9mm, I can't let my ammo go to waste.
I currently don't have any rifles mainly because I don't hunt. I think there are some nuts out there who want to own every type of gun out there, that's not me.

We always knew the parents of our kids friends.

I did find a couple studies about harsher condition causing more Recidivism (repeat offenders), which I can link to if anyone wants to see. I didn't read the whole things but the reason I don't link them now is due to the fact that the condition didn't seem to particularly relate to the things talked about here (and to note one, in 2007, mentioned they feel much more research needs to be done in what condition specifically increase or decrease recidivism.).

Basically, as that above kind of paragraph is a bit confusing, I did find there are studies that say harsher does cause more repeat offenders, it is just there isn't enough research into what exact conditions equate to it, and thus hard to know if they apply to MCSO's programs.

By the way found 2011 (I think 2011, maybe 2010) numbers for the crime rate in Maricopa County:

(lastly a totally random fact, but the city of Maricopa isn't in Maricopa County)
