They're not supposed to cancel any programs under sequestration. That's why it was supposed to force the Congress to find a compromise. Instead of managers finding 10% of fat to trim, everything is supposed to continue being funded; just at 90% of their previous funding. It's supposed to be a dumb way of managing. That's also why all us federal employees are taking a 20% pay cut and no one is getting laid off. Where it really hurts military families is the furloughs include the DoDDS teachers. Those furloughs will force the extension of the school year and single parents may have to take extra leave. That part also caused the cancellation of mine and I am sure others vacation this year. But I will be fine money wise. I am overseas so I am somewhat insulated since I get housing. If I was stateside this would really hurt.
