Thread: Two Bombs Explode at Boston Marathon finish line!!

I just wish these guys would get no more publicity. I wanted to hear about their capture / death and I was glad to hear about the decision to try him as a citizen. The next thing I want to hear about is the second one being put to death. Right now they are both getting what they wanted.

True, and essentially myself, as well everyone that talks about it, is contributing to the publicity. I think people naturally wan't to know why this happened, or what happened to influence an individual to do something like this. Which is a good thing, because this is how we prevent or try to prevent from it happening again. The desire to understand fuels the publicity, and consequently makes the murderer a celebrity. I see this as one of the down sides of the freedom of information and the right be informed that we have. It's essentially an adverse effect of something that is good, which I'll take. I would much rather live in a country which inadvertently makes a murder infamous, than one in which a murder is hauled away and the people have no idea what happened or who it was.

Now granted... during the shootout which killed the older brother, in that case running would, without a doubt, be a plausible. There are very few men alive that wouldn't run when the bullets were flying, be they from a legitimate, government sanctioned policing agency, or a rogue gunman. That is, I believe the "human nature" aspect of what DG was attempting to point out.

But I feel there is already overwhelming evidence demonstrating these are the guys who committed this crime. And that's just based off the information the news outlets are feeding us. And to add one more element, perhaps the police don't want to release all the information for our approval. That would make finding an impartial jury exceedingly difficult. Can you say "jury biased mistrial"?

While I agree we should be given all the info for our own edification, transparency of the system and posterity, getting real time info to satiate our curiosity is a little much.

Unless the government is complicit in implicating these guys, AKA using them as patsies, the evidence is overwhelming that they are the ones who did this or at least part of a larger group that did, if we are to believe all the reporting. I mean, the younger brother ran over his older brother with a car, ensuring his brother's death when the police were apprehending him and dragging him down the street as he ran over him. They threw homemade bombs including a different pressure cooker bomb at police.

If you ask me, this "I didn't do it" stuff is a ploy on the part of these terrorists to capitalize on conspiracy theorists and create more dissension and confusion. There is more to the story however, namely the Saudi suspect that was deported whom the government first denied and then confirmed.
