In TX a minor can drink in a bar if he/she is with their parents and the establishment gives the ok.

Not saying it's better, but ultimately it's the responsibility of the parents to decide what to expose their children to. While they still made good and bad decisions, it's still their responsibility.

Gatherings like this happen Every year in denver on the 20th. Some people make it a point to go there, others make it a point to stay away. From the 2nd or 3rd consecutive year, Most denverites know what happens due to news coverage. Whether it's "damn punk kids" or "freedom fighters unite"
If you didn't know it, April 20th (or that weekend) is the day in which you are likely to see it occur in public more than any other day of the year, unless you live in Colorado, Washington, or Amsterdamn.

I do know what happens on 4/20, but I am surprised that cops basically just seem to ignore it. I wouldn't call it an offense worth arresting someone over, but issuing a citation and fine would certainly be justifiable. After all, regardless of what happens in the future with legalization, it's still illegal right now.

As for the "City of Brotherly Love", these are the same people that boo Santa Claus, so I can't exactly say I'm surprised lol. I'm pretty sure that nickname is supposed to be ironic more than accurate

I would agree about Philly.
The Rallies though are a phenomena, a lot of other rallies are broken up and Riot gear is called in. All to often I see the cops Wanting to beat some protester ass. Too much headache for too little of a fine? A change in policy? Officer Safety? Maybe.
