It will be interesting to see how much of a moderate he really is. While some sounds decent, and hell of a lot better then the Crazy Bastard (I'm not going to try to spell his name), it is hard to take it with more then a grain of salt. Its seemed like the President is more the spokesperson, while the Supreme Leader is the one who pulls all the strings (thus it means shit if someone is a moderate or extremist).
Anyways, somewhat important going on in the world, so worth bringing up none the less.
BBC News - Profile: Hassan Rouhani
Hassan Rouhani, 64, was elected president of Iran in June 2013 - the only cleric to contest the poll, and politically the most moderate of the contenders.
His promises of reform, of freeing political prisoners, of guaranteeing civil rights and a return of "dignity to the nation" drew large crowds when he was on the campaign trail.
In televised debates, he raised taboo subjects, such as the nuclear stand-off with world powers, damaging international sanctions, the dire state of the economy and Iran's extreme isolation in the international community.

Unfortunately, it's the Ayatollahs who wield the true power. He's just a figurehead.
