Welcome to our Post-Constitutional America.
Folks, this is not the America our founders intended. This is NOT an isolated incident. Things like this are happening all over the country at an alarming rate. Many rest stops are also being converted into DHS checkpoints:
The border patrol arm of DHS is also Reports from south Texas are that the checkpoints are moving further and further inland. Some have been reported up to 100 miles from the border.
"No refusal" DUI checkpoints are also becoming more commonplace as well.

It is an undeniable fact that it is becoming a normal part of police procedure all over this country. Civil disobedience is all anyone has left when they find themselves in one of these situations.
This is really an extension at a local level of the imperial behavior that is occurring at the highest levels of our national leadership:

Obama signs NDAA 2013 without objecting to indefinite detention of Americans ? RT USA

These are just a few examples. Where is the constitution in all of this? This is what I care about most.

Re: Welcome to our Post-Constitutional America.
I saw that first video and thought if that kid wasn't a fucken punk he would've been on his way in 2 mins. But instead he chose be an ass so he got treated like one. This video is not a representation of the entire law enforcement..
As for the border patrol, so what? I lived in south Texas for 7 years and never gave two shits about stopping at a checkpoint. What's Interesting about each checkpoint is they keep a running tally of drug and illegal aliens? What's your stance on illegals?
This is all a bunch of garbage, bait, that I couldn't resist. So go ahead, I'm patiently waiting for your dissertation of corrupt America and more specifically Obama.
And here weeeee go. - bonus points if you guess the movie

Re: Welcome to our Post-Constitutional America.
I do think law enforcement in general is stepping either closer to or further over the line with people and their constitutional rights. I do not think it has anything to do with Barry but more so our entire system. We have been headed this way for a while now. During Bush's term the marine police set up a DUI checkpoint on Lake Conroe and were receiving warrants to search and draw blood via a mobile skype type call with a Judge for anyone that refused search or breath test. I did not blame Bush for that no different than I would blame Barry for it now.
I also do not like mad cops. I do not get mad if a customer buys from my competitor, I do not like it when cops get mad because you do not follow their call. The cop in the first video was clearly mad about the whole deal. He went well beyond what he is allowed to do by law and that is BS regardless if the kid was looking to piss them off.triggerhappy2005 liked this post

Re: Welcome to our Post-Constitutional America.
Trigger, I'm talking about things that are happening right now. If you want to get into a time machine and go back in time to complain to someone about Bush, be my guest. The topic of this thread is the constitutional violations happening to citizens RIGHT NOW and encouraged by the current leadership, both in congress and the White House.
You also have no idea what I ever said about Bush when he was President because we never had a conversation about it. Now let's just stick to the topic shall we?~BigTymer~ liked this post

Re: Welcome to our Post-Constitutional America.
I have no idea why you are classifying civil disobedience in response to flagrant violation of our Constitutional rights as "garbage".
I am against illegal immigration and I expect and fully support our Border Patrol/DHS to be on the border trying to stop illegal immigrants, not inland stopping citizens for no apparent reason. I also support all of our LEO's in the work they do but they are our fellow citizens. In order for our republic to survive they must be held to the same accountability as the rest of us. I do not expect as a United States Citizen to be stopped by law enforcement for no reason and to be forcibly searched or asked to show my papers or any other question.
As for a dissertation, it's not really necessary. You know for a fact that these things at all levels are illegal and unconstitutional and you, as you said, could give 2 shits about it. So you'll just enjoy the results of efforts of others who practice civil disobedience in an effort to resist tyranny. Not one thing about your response surprises me. I want to encourage you and anyone else to keep watching these things though. Please, decide on a line for yourself that government will not cross without your own peaceful resistance to it. And then stick to what you decided. Because if things keep trending like they are someday soon that time will come. Hopefully by then it won't be too late.

Of course not for everything. I made very specific comments in my original post on this. I hope you read my post but in case you did not here was my comment:

There is a cycle of complete unfettered corruption and tyranny in this country that must be broken. Where does the President and congress and their behavior fit into this? I think it's pretty damned obvious - maybe you can add to the discussion?kANG liked this post
