Palin isn't stupid, she was just clumsy in some interviews. That's really a failure of her handlers. The media ran with that. She is the opposite of what a woman in politics is supposed to be (feminist, pro choice, ect) so the media crucified her for the kind of mistakes that Dan Quale, George W Bush, and Joe Biden got away with. I think that McCain should not have picked her as a running mate. She seemed unprepared for national politics at the time. But her "stupidly" was way over played. Perception is reality so things that Tina Faye says are attributed to Palin and even quoted on this thread. Loved those skits though.

Do I think Sarah Palin isn't smart? Probably. Do I think she is as stupid as made out to be? Probably not. Hell, for all we know it could just be an act to "appeal to the common masses." Kind of like I wouldn't be shocked to find out Bush (W) isn't an idiot, but does hell of a job acting er...normalish.
Biden is a crazy loon though (not stupid, but like the crazy uncle kinda.)PvtPrivate liked this post

Yup. No one... And I mean NO ONE could get the kind of support it takes to become President and be an idiot. Bush earned a Bachelors degree from Yale and a Masters degree at Harvard.
The reputations of both these schools in terms of academic standards is almost unparalleled. I'd say anyone who thinks that W was gifted these degrees just because of his name is the idiot. There is NO WAY Yale or Harvard would allow that to happen, especially if he were an idiot.

No, it's not stupid. It's not about choice. He doesn't get involved in the creating of legislation. It's a simple fact. But like I said, show just one instance where he as President of the Senate, was involved in the creating of legislation. Just one.
You won't because it NEVER happens...PERIOD.
Chris Matthews, love him or hate him, explains it clearly and perfectly starting at 2:30 of this video.

I know she didn't actually say that lol, but it still makes me chuckle and it's funny watching people overreact to that being attributed to her. And amusingly enough, that basically WAS the limits of her foreign relations experience anyways.
And like I said, Palin flubbed her chances to give the impression that she was smart, especially when she had to write key Republican talking points on her hand, talking points that ANY Republican has used basically since birth lol.
Is she actually dumb? I seriously doubt it, considering it's difficult to make any higher office like Governor or Senator without having been successful at SOMEthing. Governor especially, as it's less of a career politician choice like Senator.
