There maybe hope for the GOP
How a young, gay congressional candidate could shake up the GOP
If the NRCC is getting behind this kind of candidate there may still be hope.

Re: There maybe hope for the GOP
Why does this mean there's hope? I mean, who cares? I'm tired of people who focus on this crap as if it represents social progress. What does this guy say about the issues? THAT is what matters. I think this thing where people place so much of their identity in what their sexual identity is is stupid. I don't discuss with people as a part of "who I am" the fact that I like sex with women, and I think it's stupid when gay people do the same.
Again I say, so what.~BigTymer~ liked this post

Re: There maybe hope for the GOP
In fact that is exactly the reason I pointed to this as being a sign of hope for the GOP:

“I warmly embrace the libertarian label, but I also want to point out that one of my biggest frustrations in politics is that people want to shove one or two big labels on some people that sums who they are and what they believe and what their record has been. I think that’s limiting,” DeMaio said.

Re: There maybe hope for the GOP
Yeah I'm sorry Ira today was crazy and I didn't have time to read the article. Sounds like he is talking the talk; but we'll see what he really does.
I think there are plenty of liberals in GOP clothing at the moment and I always wait for the other shoe to drop when I see stuff like this. Can't blame myself for being gun-shy after the last several elections...
