There is a massive difference between religion based faith and faith in facts. You are trying to apply religion based faith to science based facts. While they aren't 100% incompatible or 100% different, they are different enough that applying one to the other is wrong.

Applying it to the manned space missions... wrong... Applying it to the CONCEPT of science... well that's closer I guess.
