Explain to me how the house is doing something wrong more so or less than Barry picking and choosing who falls under the new law and who does not.

I haven't said anything about the enforcement of the ACA, I'm talking about the government shutdown.

When people get fed up with a hard to stop circus side show they take extreme LEGAL measures to try and stop it.

That's one way to put "not getting you way, all of the time," sure.

But don't you think it's a tiny bit shady that Obama is giving a free pass to his constituents, namely the Unions? This IS about the government. If Obama is gonna give a free pass to his buddy's, why can't he give one to the rest of us? Where's the outrage? Where's the "paying your fair share" now? Are Unions not the 1% of people who get a waiver?

When did Presidents get to pick and choose which laws they were gonna enforce, and to which people? Where's the injustice now? I would LOVE for politicians from both sides to show some consistency. Think about that when you are defending a hugely unpopular Bill, created by the same crony assholes you say the GOP is full of, while blaming the same GOP for taking a stand their constituents WANT them to take. It's like they're taking it on the chin because the people that elected them told them to fight it, and every liberal thinks they are acting out of some extremist point of view, and are on the verge of going rogue.

Yet when Dems do it, they are noble, and fighting for the people. When the GOP does it, they are holding the country hostage and out to wipe out the lower class.

Why the double standard? The Republicans aren't trying to repeal Obamacare, only defund it. They are asking for a 1 year extension (at least one of the MANY bills they've tried to pass, yet were blocked by Reid). So the Republicans are using the ONE THING they have, budget control, to get a President, who has a history of pouting in the dirt when he doesn't get his way, to deal. And their the assholes?

So only those people who come up with it first is the only one that can have a voice on it?

And that is a clever spin to not admit to the issue and move the discussion to something else. I am not taking the bait.

The shit has gone on long enough. It is time to pay the piper. I hope there is no compromise on this or the dept ceiling. I am prepared for the worst, are you?

    Re: Shutdown

Found this a day or two ago, and finally getting around to posting it but all about different polls on the ACA. Yes it is HuffPo but it is one of the HuffPo articles where the author doesn't go off the deep end at least.
Obamacare Polls: Little Support For Defunding But Much Uncertainty, Doubt

Mostly about a lot of different polling done on the ACA from 5 or so different polls, I believe the links are provided to read the polls and it shows the sample size for most of them in the article. Some opinion journalism in there but for the most part when I read it, I thought it tried to stay in the realm of looking at/reading results than being overly opinion based with some polls thrown in.

Yes, they're the assholes. The president was elected in large part because of his healthcare plan. The Democrats were elected to congress at least in part because of healthcare. The people spoke, and the vote was passed. If the people speak differently in the next election, then the law can be repealed. When the Democratic party does this, they're the assholes, but in this case, the Republican party are the assholes.
