The ridiculous cost of Obamacare
Ohhhh. Epic fail. Remember that time you said Obamacare would be better than what people have now?
Obamacare Facebook Erupts with Citizen Sticker Shock
My favorite quote:
"There is NO WAY I can afford it," said one commenter after using the Kaiser Subsidy Calculator. "Heck right now I couldn't afford an extra 10$ [sic] a month...and oh apparently I make to [sic] much at 8.55/hour to get subsidies."
OH! And almost no one is signing up for it anyway:

Now you may say that's only because the website doesn't work right. Time will tell I guess.

Study Links Medical Costs and Personal Bankruptcy - Businessweek
Medical problems caused 62% of all personal bankruptcies filed in the U.S. in 2007, according to a study by Harvard researchers. And in a finding that surprised even the researchers, 78% of those filers had medical insurance at the start of their illness, including 60.3% who had private coverage, not Medicare or Medicaid.

So, before taxes and assuming a person is actually working 40 hours a week and works 52 weeks a year, that person would make just under $18k/year, which is well below the max income level to receive subsidies.
enf-Jesus its been like 12 minutes and you're already worried about stats?! :-P

OUCH. I think my premium is around 250/month. Maybe as high as 300. Not entirely sure. Job pays for half of it and the other half comes out of my check before I ever even see it so... out of sight out of mind so-to-speak.

Re: The ridiculous cost of Obamacare
I'll have to look for it later - but read an article describing a new gap in the ACA implementation much like the one described above. The issue was a result of the individual living in a state, like Texas, which opted not to expand medicaid pursuant the to ACA. Net result is that some people will be trapped so to speak between eligibility for subsidies and eligibility for medicaid. In states where medicaid was integrated as planned for in the ACA the gap does not exist.
This one is on the leadership in the states who choose not to integrate medicaid.
