Re: There is a God.
I also use the "Insert Image" function.
This is the same as attaching a file - you upload the image to the site, and then refer to that file in your post.
There was a bug on the site where using "Insert Image" in Quick Reply would result in an "Invalid Attachment" error for some people.
I posted about it in one of the forums (Fix The Site, or Website Malfunction, or something else), and a few of us tested a variety of scenarios. We could only get the error when using Quick Reply. Using the Advanced Reply (from Quick Reply, click "Go Advanced") would never produce the error.
From our testing, it seemed to be related to site user permissions. I never post from a mobile device, and so can't test modes other than a standard web browser.
From what I can tell, this has never been fixed.
After the first time, I consistently use "Go Advanced" if I had an attachment. When other people have complained about Invalid Attachments, I have advised and re-posted the bug report.
I've posted about this at least 3 times. I don't know if it's fixable or if it's baked into vB. If fixable, I don't know if it's worth the time to fix. I don't know how many people are affected, though it has more than once kept a bunch of us from viewing a Babe (and I've always found that "tits" is a good enough reason for just about anything).
So, once again, my advice: if you want to include an in-line picture: use Advanced Reply. To get there, click "Reply" or "Reply With Quote", then click "Go Advanced" between "Post Quick Reply" and "Cancel". ... THEN attach your image.
Cheers,
