Or even neither, or both: ASU Fraternity Celebrates MLK Day with Party Mocking Black People
(Yes, not the greatest source, though I think most Arizona news sources are meh. Get a better one when get on my computer in a bit).
I'm pretty firm in the feeling the kids aren't purposely being racist but just a group of idiots who thought it'd be "teh lulz," to have a "black party." I can see why some civil rights leaders would be a bit angry, but it seems a bit much over stupid people at a frat. I'm also not black, so its entirely possible I see differently due to that.
The other question is what (if any) punishment should they face? Again seemingly decently discussed in local media. From what I've heard/read, some want the people who set the party up to be expelled, and at least one person supposedly wanted anyone who attended expelled. Again, it seems way too...angry I suppose to be pushing for expulsion just for what they did, and personally can't really think of what punishment should be handed out.
Figured may be an interesting piece to discuss (especially with politics mostly dead at the moment). Do you think it was racist? Is it worth expulsion, a lesser punishment, or none at all?

So people want the school to take action for a party that didn't even take place on school grounds? lol whats next? Should we start throwing people out of school for voicing what others think are bad opinions on the internet? People need to get a grip and mind their own fucking business.

A few frat guys here at NAU got expelled a few years ago for holding up score-cards as girls walked by the union. I see actions 10x worse on campus on probably a daily basis where no punishment or corrective action was taken. Quite the double standard.

Trying to find something else on one of the local news sites and had an update on the story:
ASU boots TKE in wake of 'offensive' MLK party - CBS 5 - KPHO
Arizona State University has permanently revoked Tau Kappa Epsilon's recognition as a fraternity chapter on its campus...
Revoking recognition means the 65-year-old local chapter is no longer affiliated with ASU, the group won't be listed on the university's website and cannot recruit members or hold on-campus meetings.
I found ASU's statement about the events they've held honoring MLK Jr. a bit...interesting I guess. One started in 1987, the other in 1991. Not exactly on the ball there.
