Re: Obama on between two ferns
Wow.......Reading fail.
Where did I say you were lazy?
Think a little. If you have your housing paid for by the government, as well as your food, you would in essence be a slave. We have multi-generational welfare families here in the US. Grandparents teaching parents teaching children to line-up and suck at the teet. When two polititians come along, and one wants to increase your "benefits", and one wants to shove you out of the only government nest you have ever known.....Which one do you think you are going to go for? Which one wants you to be as dependant on them as possible?
As for Border Patrol......They are there to keep people out, not in. Once upon a time, the Soviet Union was famous for their wall building. They had a nifty one in Germany (if you go to QC, the Anatole has a hunk of it on display....just down from a portrait of the Dear Leader....go figure). I went to school with a kid whose father still has an AK fragment in his leg from a Russian soldier who shot him (and his mother) while he was escaping Hungary.
And the conversation hasn't switched at all. It's not the free market that sets the minumum wage. It's the government.

You did not Expressly call me lazy, you said the ones who vote for more handouts are lazy(more/less).
I vote democrat, which are the very types you espouse as giving welfare for votes.
#seewhatididthere?
We see by history, that the Free market left to their own devices Will not make minimum wage liveable, heck minimum wage to the industry is talking point to raise prices and cut jobs. We need government to set the standard by which companies can do their Free marketeering.
The point is that you need not worry that the government will make you a slave by raising the minimum wage. Because that is a far fetched scare tactic to induce you to vote for "Job creators/job takers"
Plus we still have our guns if it comes to that.
Can we stop the vitriol for one minute and make a real conversation about minimum wage or do we always need to bring out the rage inducing talking points that Fox has engraved in your brains.
Does anyone for a moment think that Large business would take a second thought to enacting Small business crushing laws if it meant for them to keep a bigger piece of the Pie?

Re: Obama on between two ferns
I honestly didn't mean to imply that you are lazy in any way shape or form. I can see how one would take it that way, and that is my fault for not being more clear. I too have collected unemployment, and it was horrible. It wasn't what I was talking about, though, for a couple of reasons.
Unemployment isn't welfare. You, by way of your employer, pay into it with every dollar you make. It's insurance, and not a handout. It's put in place for the benefit of all of us who work for legit companies, so that when our neighbors lose their jobs, we have a better shot at keeping our property values.
I was trying to make an example of the people who have passed the welfare lifestyle on to multiple generations, now. They depend on the government for everything. They are, and have been chained to the teet of Big Brother. We, as a society, can do better. We, as taxpayers, deserve better.
Power corrupts, in every direction. When corporations get too big, and have too much control, it's never turned out well. When governments get too big, and have too much control, it's never turned out well.

The difference is using unemployment for what its designed for and staying on it until your booted off of it. Plus unemployment isnt a government check. Your last company pays for that.
I can say though that our government has plenty of walls it posts guards aside from the border. It use to be you could walk into a court house without obstruction. You use to be able to pick any school in the country and walk in but that isnt the truth anymore.
I can however think of 1 company in the US that posts guards to keep people in. Prisons.
