No, but I have seen people sent home for dress code violations. Most companies would likely enforce their dress code, and then eventually make the decision to bend the rules, just like the school did.

I don't think anyone here has a problem with dress codes in general....at least I don't. It's the zero thought/tolerance bs that school administrators hide behind when one of them is too spineless to make a call, or the code doesn't allow for ANY discretion to be used by the people we trust to care for children every day. If some discretion is allowed, we wouldn't hear about 12y/o girls being suspended for doing something they should be praised for.

Yes, they clearly were pissed that she was trying to show compassion. That is obviously why they sent her home. What happens when some kid has compassion for Bieber, and his legal troubles? Can they then wear saggy pants and a wife beater? I mean I am all for complete anarchy, and no rules if you guys are. Let's do this. Why should I have to wear pants when I go to Burger King?

Also....When a company makes a call, it's their company and their call.
These people work for us. It's our company and our dime, so it's well within our rights to expect that little girls who shave their heads in solidarity of a friend with cancer don't get suspended for even a second.
