Texas Death Row Documentary
This is a pretty interesting documentary on death row in Texas. It features the prison I work at (Huntsville Unit AKA The Walls Unit), where we execute death row inmates. It follows 3 convicted death row inmates to their execution date. Pretty cool.

Re: Texas Death Row Documentary
Having been in a situation where I was set to testify at a murder trial, knowing that my testimony along with others had a strong chance to put someone to death. I have a hard time with the death penalty. I feel that we are sinking to the level of murderers by killing them. I was set to testify and that morning they called and told me that the prosecution had made a deal, after a guilty verdict, that he confessed to the murder that was on trial and another he was suspected in, he received life without parole. It was the biggest relief in my life. I was set to testify because that is what the State of Texas asked of me. I really didn't want to and having been that close to a murderer and looked at that gun pointed at me, I know the seriousness of it but it bothers me that we sink to that level.
These are terrible sick individuals, they are lost in life. There is no punishment that makes up for what they did. If it was my family member I would want them dead, but in my heart I know that is not the right thing. Life with no parole, yes we feed and house them for a long time, but they spend years living their meaning less life and we never had to sink to their level. They are put in a box and forgotten, no execution day to open up the pain and give them a spotlight one last time.Red_Lizard2 liked this post
