A parody twitter account (that was clearly designated a parody account) was made to make fun of him. So, did he tell his constituents that it wasn't him and that he wouldn't say that stuff? No, he got warrants to find out who the creator of the account was and where he lived. He then had the police raid the guy's home while he was at work seizing all of his electronics. The guy was then arrested and only released when he asked to speak to a lawyer. They kept his phone even though the let him go.

The state attorney who looked at the case for the town government said there was no legal basis to for any of that to have happened and decided to not charge the guy with anything. The ACLU is now suing on his behalf.

The Peoria metro population of 375,000 makes it not really a "small town". Mayor Fucknuts is just an idiot with delusions of grandeur. Just like everyone that gets a little power and doesn't put it into perspective, they start thinking they are above the rules. He found out otherwise and hopefully the lawsuits make him think twice before he ever tries anything like that again.

It's about 2 and a half hours from peoria and in another state. But close enough.

I am about 15 minutes from peoria.
