You treat it like a militarized zone. Unmanned gun pods, mines, thermal gun platforms. Dude are many options available but you have to make the cost to high to try. For a month or two your going to have a body count but after that it will become a rarity.

If the U.S. stops sending the billions of dollars it sends as "aid" to these countries on the conditions that they take control of their shit or they´ll stop getting the money, you think these countries won´t get their asses on it?

As it is now, Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras don´t give a flying fuck about immigrants. It´s not costing them 1 cent.

We've done that several times trying to stop situations from happening. It failed every time.

Yea. In my perspective, I don´t see that happening in our lifetime (the militarized zone with mine fields, unmanned pods etc etc). Not one politician will risk popularity over that.

What kind of work are they going to do that will offset the cost of room, board, medicine, education, and asylum when they have no skills, and most don't even speak the language. Also, since we are talking, or at least the OP was, about kids then what kind of child labor programs are you pushing?

I do agree that you and DG, and probably you and I, look at things totally differently than each other. You want to make it as easy as possible in the hope that we can somehow make these people contributing members of society some day. DG, myself, and some others take the opposite approach saying let's make coming here as shitty as possible for them so it removes the desire to come in the first place. Will it deter all of them? Of course not, but what if we can deter half? How much easier, and less expensive, does catching the other half become?

Take their kids out of our schools......deny them ANY kind of financial help (WIC, Food Stamps, ect)....Any contact with a government official results in immediate deportation.....any money they have, or property they own is immeditely confiscated (since it was gained illegally)....businesses get fined heavy for giving them a job, and if they got that job with forged documents, they do some prison time before they can join the rest of their families.

There are all kinds of things we can do. Some are easy, and some would be tough, but both will be necessary. As long as we are giving the American Dream away to all those who can cross the Red Rover line, there will be folks running for it.

Make it easier, cheaper, and faster to become a legal citizen, and make it tough as Hell to come any other way, and we will see huge results.

None.

The drug runners use the illegals as mules, but only out of convienience. The drug problem was around long before our borders dissolved.

Stop fucking putting words in my mouth or quote me on it if I´ve said it. I don´t want to make it as easy as possible to let people in. Nothing is free in this world and rightly so.

The deterrent DG is proposing is fine...but it will never happen because of, quite simply, politics.
