Re: Saw this... thought about some people i know....
That's true, and a good point.
I do think that it's at least a little bit a matter of degrees, and clearly the parents of these kids thought so too.
As for kids that are all alone, I saw this a couple weeks ago:
Sand in the Gears ŧ Blog Archive ŧ Thy kingdom come
... and thought it added something useful. I don't know anything about the guy who wrote it, and I don't necessarily agree with everything in that short piece, but it's a well-written call for perspective, sympathy, and a simple Christian approach.
Warnings about unintended consequences (thanks, Dex) still apply.
Edit: Just saw this;
... Hilarious. Thanks for post.
Cheers,

Re: Saw this... thought about some people i know....
If we go somewhere else to do the same thing we're called global police if we're home we're global police. The location is pretty much irrelevant and its never just simply kids. There are adults in there as well. When it first started that was mentioned but as time went by that part was left out. When this story first hit the news they at least made mention of the mothers that were with them and not for nothing but females and kids are just as capable at committing horrendous acts as the fathers.
Send them home and fix the system. Circumventing it does not help anything.

Focus, dgod...we are talking about THIS particular case at the borders...No one is saying "only kids are crossing the borders now, the men and women stopped crossing the border, that is non existent now; only kids are there"
It is this particular case where a big influx of a bunch of kids being sent by their parents or relatives to cross the border for x or y reason.
And still, how does "global policing" apply to any of this? The term just doesnīt apply here. Itīs a case of a country dealing with itīs own border...nothing more, nothing less.

Oh i am focused. I focus on the issue while your trying to make it about one specific instance in time. Both are focus but one does nothing to fix anything. Now if i were to close in on your particular focal point i could still mention that kids are plenty capable of doing harm and that gang members were already caught trying to take advantage of this particular instance. So send the little bastards home to their parents. We have plenty of issues without having countries dumping their problems on us instead of solving the problem.
As for how does global policing fit well its used every time we do anything not just wage war. Although i will admit people are less likely to throw it out there without bombs being dropped unless they are against whatever task is being completed. So yeah it applies.
