I agree. Just to be clear to me earned and deserved are not the same. Earned to me is you provoked the situation deserved means you didn't need to provoke it. Thats the best way i can think to explain it at the moment.

There was a time i would much rather fight then talk but not so much anymore. However preferring to discuss it wont stop me from correcting someones behavior while knowing full well they aren't going to want to talk it out. Those bar brawls use to be a lot of fun.

I had a "friend" that loved to pick fights. He would go out and then look to provoke someone to puff up his chest. My "friend" was a strong maniac. It was a mistake for anyone to pick a fight or to meet his challenge.

I put "friend" in quotes because we knew each other and we got along. He is not somebody I would care to hang out with. In fact, when we did run into each other and he would say "hey! watch this!" ... I'd say, "dude, I don't have your six. This one is all you."

Now my "friend" was an ass. He was looking to provoke. Had these two clowns puffed their chest out to him, he would have beat them silly or at least until they stopped fighting. There are assholes like this everywhere. Life is full of them. If you don't have the sense to avoid a beating then I have little to no empathy for you.

According to his story, this guy was called a "faggot." He decided he was going to "man" up and do ... what? ... go verbally berate the person that didn't like him knocking over drinks? WTF ... really? I'm going to call it like I see it. This guy was looking for trouble ... to puff his chest out ... to verbally bully someone else. He ended up calling someone out and got his ass beat. The chair? Well ... it's not something I would have done, but then I'm also not in a bar calling people faggot. This guy could have been packing heat ... and then what? So you go puff out your chest and then get shot? Yes, the shooter would go to jail, but you are dead ... what did you accomplish?

You have to be smarter. You have to have better self control. When you step to someone you must be prepared to accept the consequences and understand that you are inviting pain for yourself and those that love you. If you beat his ass ... then what? You get a video about you posted up showing how you beats someone's ass and then you go to jail because you stepped to him.

Simply put ... be smart. An ignorant SOB isn't going to change his ways, be shamed, apologize, or become enlightened because you verbally berate them. There are battles worth fighting ... you are an idiot if you are fighting drunks.
