Yeah, I saw some reporting on this and a few things stood out.

1) I have no idea what they might be, but there's some weird and convoluted identity issues going on here.

2) The popular media seems to be missing any real story and is just going with a "She said she's black, but she's not!" narrative.

3) I haven't yet seen anyone accuse her of doing anything wrong. Maybe I missed it.

She hasn't done anything wrong from a legal standpoint, I don't think. I've seen a lot of people go "Let's hear the full story before saying much." Then once her interviews started showing up: "Wtf."

Ummmm......I wouldn't call her innocent quite yet. There is still the matter of the threats and hate mail she turned over to the coppers that never went through the mail system. They haven't come out and charged her with anything (yet), but I wouldn't be surprized if they did. It kinda looks like she is not only delusional, but possibly a pathological liar. Add some complete shitbag parents, and we have a story.

It is interesting watching this unfold at the same time the whole Bruce Jenner thing is going on, though. Many of the same people who are joining Bruce's delusion of becoming female are bashing this nutjob for trying to become black (although the spray tan is funny shit). Seems to me the delusion is the same. It seems that "self identification" can bend gender, but ethnic heritage is a road too far for many.
