Re: Obama Gun Control!
you can see that tipping of the scales by-the-way by the way a HUGE amount of people see the NRA as being evil. I don't remember that at ALL when I was a kid. NOBODY thought that. Now it's all over CNN and FOX and started, I believe, around the time Bowling for Columbine came out.

When our parents, or maybe some of us grandparents, were in school gun safety was often taught at school. Just goes to show how far we have come. As for the other BS it is a dog and pony show more than anything. Most of the politicians proposing these bills/laws admit behind closed doors they won't change anything, so it is just step 1 of a many step process. They just need something, anything, to start the ball rolling.

Re: Obama Gun Control!
I don't know when the NRA's mission drift started, but it was way before Bowling for Columbine.
For me, the NRA lost all credibility a long time ago.
They are now someone's political tool. They have abdicated their mission and detached themselves from the broader society they used to serve. To the outside observer (in this case, me) it is the functional equivalent of having sold their soul.
It's all dogma now, and they're willing to commit crimes against civility and pragmatism to shore up their front. It's not just that they simplify their message because need to tend their brand and image. They use racism as a tool. They excommunicate heretics - lifelong sportsmen and gun advocates who make public statements that contradict NRA dogma.
So I don't even get to the part where I might "agree/accept" something the NRA says or does. Even when they say things I agree with, I don't care.

Nah i think pc has run its course for now. People are becoming tired of its nonsense and actually the best thing to happen for the pro gun side in a long time was obama. He may have passed a few worthless items but many people that never thought they would have a gun went out and bought them.
