Looks like they found the body. They said there were some puncture wounds but their best guess is that he drowned.

EDIT: Damn, I'm way late - Festus had that shit on lockdown hours ago; R.I.P. my internet cred
It's ok I'm just old and tend to pay attention to shit going on, you know like the snoopy old neighbor down the street. You youngsters are much to busy.

So now these fucktards go to disney, ignore all the signage saying stay your dumb ass out of the water it has alligators, and a kid gets taken. I love the idea that they are searching for a 2 year old body in a 200 acre lake on 40000 acres of natural wild life preserve. To what purpose? To kill the gator? It was 9 pm so its dark out, you know when they are hunting for food. Shit gators are the reason i dont go fucking canoeing down here. Ever seen what a 12 foot gator can do to your puny ass canoe?

What did they think was going to happen? That the disney gators are somehow way nicer then the ones everywhere else? Fucking people are stupid and ones that do shit like this are fucking up the gene pool.
    3 points here.

On the gorilla topic. The gorilla needed to be put down, it's wild and unpredictable. On the parent portion. Witness testimony states that the kid was moving fast and other adults tried to stop the child. The bottom line here. Kids are unpredictable at times. There isn't a single parent in the world who keeps a keen eye on their kid every second, yet alone multiple kids. It's a tragedy, plain and simple. No need to place blame.

As far as the gator situation goes, Disney is at fault. Not because their weren't signs or proper notification, or as someone said in this thread, a training seminar... Disney is at fault because their shouldn't have been gators near the resort beaches. The water area is rather large, but there are ways to block gators from getting to the south west point where the resort beaches were. I get that it's Florida and gators live there, but if you're going to create a walking beach area at Disney World, take some precautions to eliminate threats.

DG, about you not canoeing around gators. I live in Charleston SC. Lots of gators here too. I fish from a kayak a lot, and I've encountered hundreds of gators. The thing about gators, at leas the ones here, is that they don't attack or eat something larger than them, and they don't attack unless provoked or cornered. I have, on several occasions come within mere inches of gators on my kayak and have never had an issue. The key is to not fall in and don't troll caught fish behind you.

In the 50' and 60's the alligator was hunted to almost extinction. It took us decades to repopulate the species. Even now they are still considered a threatened species.

They've recovered nicely which is why there's a hunting season and you can get far more than 3 bucks for a gator.

The kid was actively trying to get in and witnesses heard him saying he wanted in. Instead she got on her cell phone instead of managing her child. An almost extinct species paid the price for them being shitty parents. The waved the jail buit they should at least have to paid for whatever means are necessary to replace that animal.

As for the gator disney is not at fault. This is fucking florida. You cant stop gators from getting into water. Thats just reality. I live near a place called cranes roost. It to is a man made lake. I was standing on the dock because i was doing a job in the sky rise on its shore. I was talking to one of the workers for the park and i asked him how many gators he thinks are in it. He responded none. I told him you may want to tell that to the gator in the water behind you. Once again no court in florida would actually award you anything for being bit or killed by a gator when you went into the water because they already know its fucking florida. They do take precautions. Every night they have patrols looking for them. Every time one is found it is removed by either killing it or relocating it. Its size determines which is done. I would love to hear your ways of blocking gators though. I've seen them climb chain link fences to get into pools.

You might be able to do that while canoeing. I have excepted the fact i have horrible luck. It wouldn't kill me any more then anything else has so far but i would catch another maiming. Just a bit of perspective though. South carolina has about 100,000 gators state wide. A couple miles from where im sitting is a lake that has one tenth of your entire states population. Thats just 1 lake. I like gators, they're actually pretty cool. I just know my luck is i would get bit by the fucker.

For 272 bucks here you can get a license to kill 2 gators for the year. All the heads and tail meat comes from farmed gators.

If you want to have some real fun get caught poaching a gator or even better a croc. This state does not play with that shit.

Here in east Texas (where I live) there like squirrels in trees if go around any body of water you can bet there's a gator somewhere in or around it.
