I watched the news until 3AM. From what I saw there wasn't much, if any, unrest or looting. The worst I saw was a large congregation of people in a 7-11 parking lot, but no looting there. Not saying it didn't happen, but from everything I saw last night from the roughly 1k people "protesting" it was about as peaceful as it could be.
That being said it is a sad day all around. Nobody wins here, we are all losers. Black, white, civilian, cop, whatever you may be.

Re: Dallas Active Shooter
Americans are what we all are, and this has been an absolutely brutal week to be one.
The killings in both Baton Rouge and here in Minnesota were senseless and horrible. They were both disgusting. Call them what you will, be it racism, piss-poor judgement calls, whatever. Either way, we need to do better screening of our cops. I feel bad for all of the good cops (the vast majority) who now have to look at the eyes of stink they will be dealing with for the next while. I also feel for the people who, for whatever reason, be it from hatred or fear (warrented or not), who are getting different treatment from the police. We have a problem that we Americans need to solve.
As for the shooting here in Falcon Heights (maybe 20 miles from where I type), I'm especially shocked. I expect more. And better.
I don't often (if ever) agree with our Gov. Spineless, but he was right when he said that had Philando Castile been white, he would likely still be alive. It's tough to imagine what was going through the officer's head when he pulled the trigger FOUR TIMES with an innocent female and a young child in the car. I just can't imagine that level of hate, fear, or stupidity, or whatever would compel him to take that path.
Nobody in Dallas had anything to do with either of these incidents. Five more dead innocent people won't solve anything. It only makes our American problem worse, and that much further from being solved. Seven dead Americans at our own hands for no apperant reason. Shit week.Last edited by dex71; 07-08-16 at 04:38 PM.

Re: Dallas Active Shooter
I watched it on YouTube when I got home from work today. To be honest, I expected him to take his usual gun control blah blah tact. He didn't. It was most certainly the best speech I have seen from him. He didn't speak as a politition, or a black person, or as a white person. He spoke to Americans as their leader. It was refreshing. Kinda reminded me of W with the bullhorn after 9-11(although with a completely different tone and context).
