More money has been taken out of that country than has ever been put in.
Illegal issues are peanuts at this time.. i could really give two shits about some political shit when there 500k orphans (before the Quake) sitting amongst all the chaos.

Im having trouble getting the vid to load itself quickly (I've seen like the first 30 seconds), but right off the bat, no one is obligated to give them anything. You have no food, no water...you have nothing...and you're complaining about the way supplies are being delivered? Sucks that people are fighting over it, yes; but people don't have to send anything in the first place. Amazing.

Re: Illegal Haitians allowed temporary stay in the US
I have always had a problem with looking at things as if I were in that position.
If I were stuck in the middle of a disaster like that, I would -
Secure my family, medical attention, if necessary take care of my own dead. Bury or burn.
Secure shelter near some source of water, provide a source of fire for cooking / water purification -
preferably away from the masses of lunatics. Closer you get to the masses the more vigilance that is required for protection.
Start foraging / scavenging for food/basic resources.
Not resorting to attacking others or fighting for handouts, finding my own food stock.
There are many things you can eat in a rough situation. I love my dog, but I love my family more.
I can hunt, I know quite a few plants I can eat. A pot of hot water soaks out calories from lots of things.
Not that it will taste good per-say, but caloric energy it would provide. Soup again dad?
Then use that energy to start rebuilding, helping others rebuild, volunteer to help with infrastructure.
The absolute last thing farthest from my mind would be sitting in the street protesting how little help I was getting.
Take care of your own dammit, aid is a benefit, always appreciated, never required or to be expected.
I will help you the best I can if you show me you are willing to help yourself first.
My heartfelt sorrow to those suffering in the tragedy, but I feel most for those silent warriors that at the end of the day get the job done not expecting a thank you or a helping hand, just do it because it needs done.

Obviously if you lived in a little small town things would be much different but densely populated areas are ALWAYS recipes for disasters ranging from not having enough water and food, shelter, space, medical supplies, inability to travel, disease, hygene issues, etc, should anything bad happen.
