Re: Full Body "Back-scatter" Scanners
There are bad employees everywhere. One of only major differences between "government service" and "contractor" employees are who the person works for... the American people, or some CEO and shareholders who are mostly concerned with lining their pockets instead of the good of the American people. There's also the fact that pay is capped for government employees, whereas contractors can make as much as they want. This allows some of the best and brightest to put in good work as contractors, but you will certainly pay top dollar for that work and better make sure it requires top dollar talent (it frequently does not).
So, yes, there are some bad employees in the government, similar to any workforce. The difference here is that you're saying "hey, check out my daughter" instead of "hey, make me a big mac."
And to the people who failed reading comprehension of my first post in this thread, I was saying that their thighs are too fat or their dick too small for the scanners to see it from the side in the first place. For the record I have a member both lengthsome and girthsome whose awesome majesty would doubtless render many an unprepared TSA employee senseless. I oppose this measure because I think that it's an American citizen's responsibility to actually stand up for their rights instead of just let people take them away because of some nebulous "terrism" threat. Regardless of security measures put in place we are ALWAYS going to be under some kind of threat. It's how we react to it, with bravery and rationality instead of just signing away our rights to anyone who wants to take them from us, that make us True Americans.Join the TPG Folding @ home team: http://www.teamplayergaming.com/pc-h...ding-team.html

Re: Full Body "Back-scatter" Scanners
Man, I have to fly into Heathrow in two weeks. I should try and figure out someway to print something on my body that says something along the lines of "This printout will self-destruct in 5 seconds". Of course, that might land my ass in security for a few hours/days.
Any other suggestions?

Re: Full Body "Back-scatter" Scanners
I posted the article, not because I personally am worried about someone seeing my digital junk in a camera screen somewhere. But more in regards to the issues I see with trying to capture this level of detail in scans (which while not bad in and of themselves) certainly raises concerns with me over what is done with that data/image. Is not, obviously, possible to trust people to be responsible with data of a personally sensitive manner. That was my primary point to posting this. Probably should've mentioned that, but of well....hindsight
pun intended.

Re: Full Body "Back-scatter" Scanners
I flew out of Albuquerque and got to go through my first of these Back Scatter machines.
I felt disappointingly un-violated. I asked to see the picture and was denied. Apparently only one person sitting in the back sees the picture and radios the TSA agent and gives them the all clear.
The agents were very nice.
And yes, I flexed a little and tried to make my junk look bigger.
