Didn't the founding fathers want to separate religion from state?

I'm all for any private school to preach in history class parents pay for their kids to get only the best, right?

I'm all for any public(meaning government funded as I use it) school stating that most our founding fathers were very religious Christians(but not all of them, some weren't even religious).

I AM NOT okay with public schools teaching kids that america is a christian nation, that it should be, or ever will. It is not, it will not, and it never has been.(Maybe it's the fact that I live in Portland)

Even our founding fathers promoted religion regardless of faith, and more specifically upholding modest values while following strong morals... most of these people did own slaves though... just a funny thought.

also: something about separation of church and state...

Modesty is a value you cannot find in any modern US American.
I get your point but texas education is fucked up anyway so doing this will not change much imo.
Zero, shut up, you know jack shit about our education system.
Neither do you obviously look up all the high school scores on the ACT and SAT we score significantly lower than most other states. Most of texas schools are behind on math courses, usually a year or two behind everyone else. I started pre algebra in 8th grade while a lot of my cousins from Louisiana were already starting algebra 2. That says a lot about our schools.
A Louisiana school was ahead of you guys? Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaammnnnn

Our public education system is a shining example of our splendid overbloated government system.

So then you'd be perfectly fine if a school board in america decided they wanted to teach about how great Islam is, and that america is evil?

I would be perfectly fine if I, nor anyone else, paid another tax dollar toward our crappy education system here in america.

I wouldnt say its America wide. It all depends on how much money the local gvt puts into the school district. In my town, about 60% of our 10K property taxes goes to the school district. Yeah, I know its crazy high, but its also probably why its number 15 in NJ.

The US as a whole is maybe middle of the pack for "advanced" nations in education. We are teaching to the lowest common denominator in most public schools.

I agree totally. We need to seriously revamp our style of education if we want to compete.

So we need to revamp education, controlled by our overbloated government, we need to revamp the prison system, controlled by our overbloated government, and we need to revamp Social Security, controlled by our overbloated government, yet it is a good idea to hand our healthcare over to our overbloated government?

I never said that the government was the answer to those issues.
