Yes. Because terrorists in Iraq were totally harmless and had no issues with the US (or the entire western hemisphere for that matter) before we went into Iraq.

Besides, if terrorist in Iraq poised a major threat to us, why didn't we use that as our major reason for invading Iraq (which would be at this time, still a very easy sell)? Instead we used the reason was due to breach of a H.R. resolution in the U.N. (though we didn't actually have authority under the conditions to do anything, yet).

All I'm saying is that to say that terrorists anywhere aren't a danger to us seems a bit out there, even for me. I would rather put them out of commission sooner rather than later.

well not all are, for example Thailand is having problems with domestic terrorism, but it isn't a threat to us as, well, its domestic terrorism. There are groups in Africa that aren't much threat to America, except Americans living in those countries.

It also depends on what you consider a threat, I.E. just the ability to attack any property of America or attacking the mainland?
