Saras e-mail hacker trial.
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100423/...s_palin_hacked
This is what happens when you let the "mainstream" use technology that might as well be magic to them.
this young man did no hacking what-so-ever. what he did was a bit of social engineering.
anyways they should let him off with community service. people get their acct hacked by GF's and whomever and they never end up in jail. if they send this kid to jail for 50 yrs it would be with out a doubt punishment by social postion.

Yeah, they have been following the case quite heavily here and it just makes me lol. My one professor said that he should get a prize for showing how lax her security was. (This is an Information Management professor) Besides, as mentioned in the article, he used publicly available info. :P

community service probably imo. And it wasn't technicially hacking so much as showing the fact the idea of using secret questions to "protect your stuff" is utter bullcrap worthless. Like using my birthdate, well porbably 1000+ people know that. Quite a few people would know my favorite book, or my Highschool, or Elementary school etc.

That is NOT hacking. And you can already tell that it is gonna swing in way of Palin no matter what.
As Palin walked to the witness stand, some jurors smiled at her. The first question from Assistant U.S. Attorney Greg Weddle was, "May I call you Governor Palin?"

Re: Saras e-mail hacker trial.
It may not be hacking but most people arnt smart enough to know the difference.
We've all heard "my <insert social networking site name here> page got hacked" and I would bet you that more than half of those people have easily obtainable security questions and passwords just like Palin.
