Thread: Basic Rules

Let's keep it simple.

#1. Post what you want. But if you really want to make a difference, back up what you post with references, cites, links, whatever.

#2. Never, EVER post entire articles, stories, or otherwise stolen materials from other websites. If you want to discuss a recent article in the NYT or CNN or FNC...fine. Quote a few lines, and bring it here, and JUST LIKE IN #1, be sure you link TO THAT SOURCE/SITE/STORY. There is zero tolerance for plagiarism. Posting entire copies of stories, even with links, on our forums is equivalent to uploading entire albums from CD's or movies from DVD's into our downloads section. Do that, and get banned. No warning. No discussion.

#3. Fight fair, and fight hard. If you lose, then you lose. There's always another story to fight the good fight in. And there's always new elections and changes of power here and there. Your day will come. If you want to talk politics, "talking" means theres a conversation, and other people are going to say things they expect you to read just as much as you expect them to read your meaningless jibber jabber. Right? So, mutually respect and ASSUME you aren't going to agree (hence the point of having to argue about it in the first place) and move on from there. You say your thing, they say their thing, someone wins, and someone loses. Knowing when the game is over is an admirable quality.

#4. Start hating, bringing in obscene, racist, derogatory, or otherwise bigoted, aka STUPID remarks about ______ story, and get banned. No warning. No discussion. You're acting like a drunk jerk in a bar telling racist jokes and not caring who you offend, and we don't run that kind of establishment. Our bouncers weigh more than you, so that means your ass gets thrown the fuck out, in disgrace.

#5. Failure to read #'s 1-4 means you aren't the kind of person that does their homework, reads, and cares about keeping things civil. Failure to read #'s 1-4 mean you think you're above the rules. You think you're outside of the box. You think you're special.

You're not. The first person we banned for being an insensitive, misinformed, ignorant, hot headed prick was special. He was an original. You're just a latecomer and a copy cat. And you'll be banned and forgotten, just the same. All the propaganda and jibberish and hate that you spew here will be edited, deleted, and washed clean. Like you never existed. And it's pretty hard to convince people of things if you don't exist, right?

All that effort, all that energy, all that free speech.....censored right the fuck off our property.

Because we can, because we have, and because we will. Play ball according to the rules, or go play somewhere else. Quickly.
