Yeah right after I made this thread it stopped working and when I visit the forum I just click there and catch up on unread post rather than looking through all the individual forums, it's just easier after I read what I want I mark forums read. That's how I might have missed the basic rule sticky. I wasn't trying to cause problems just trying to save some poor schmuck an instant ban.

We can setup notices to display for users who have visited a given forum for the first few times, asking them to read the rules.

heres an example, we can control everything, color, appearance, can make it gigantor large etc

As I said I wasn't trying to rock the boat, it's not my website it was just an observation but while you're here what's wrong with the unread post button?
