Sure it can. As long as the government takes over complete control of it, regulates the shit out of it, and doesnt allow anyone else to do anything, it will be fine.

Didn't I mention that it got the credit market back rolling? I am starting to think that you really don't know much about your industry other than whatever it is you do (underwriting?), or you are just playing coy.

Raising the flag. Banks did stop lending to each other as well as to businesses. And it wasn't going to end, there was a credit crunch, and was poised to expand massively. TARP injected much needed money into the credit market to get banks to makes loans again and to sustain it....

So one division of the government is saying, "banks, get bigger, so you can survive," and another division is screaming, "big banks, bad!!!" So which is it?
TARP money wasn't loaned out so banks can gobble up other banks, although it did happen, it shouldn't have and I believe there were fines for that.

So did those banks close because of TARP or in spite of it? You didn't answer that during your filibuster. So which is it?
