Re: Canada's new drinking and driving laws.
It is pretty lame. Sometimes if I go out with some friends and I am the dd, I like to have a stout with a meal. Not like any copper is going have any reasonable cause to pull me over after having one beer, I'm a good driver (unless my drunk ass friends attract attention.) I just can't see the law working, the legal limit is already 0.05 anyways for anyone over 21 in Ontario, which is real low. This law sounds more like a money grab than any real form of protection. The people who are going to be the dangerous ones on the road are the ones who are loaded anyways, what difference is this going to make?

I'm glad i got mine before all of that was introduced.
.05 - .08( Warn Range) here in BC will get you a 3 day suspension and $200 fine(first offense) 2nd time is a 7 day suspension and $300 fine. 3rd time within a 5 year period is.... 30 day suspension and a $400 fine.
If you are caught 3 times in 5 years you will also have to take part in the Responsible Driver Program and a ignition interlock device installed on your car.Last edited by -Sauso-; 07-31-10 at 06:32 PM.
